The Five Steps to Developing and Implementing an Effective Data Governance Program

In our "always-on, always-connected, there must be an app for that" world, organizations need to change the way they think about their data. Data can be an extremely valuable asset, provided it can be used effectively. The organizations that are changing the way they do business better engage their employees and customers; they are also able to create a competitive advantage for themselves.

This workshop will examine the challenges organizations face as they struggle to wrap their arms around their unstructured data, and provide a framework for developing an effective information management program. Through a series of interactive presentations, and practical exercises, participants will engage in each step of the framework, learning how to sort and understand their data and develop an information architecture. The architecture will help increase the usability of data, optimizes cost, and simplify administration while increasing security and ensuring regulatory compliance.

This is a 200-300 level workshop intended for anyone responsible for information management, security, privacy, and ensuring regulatory compliance within their organization.

Workshop registration is separate from the Cyber Summit registration
